Iam a bit surprised to find Paal in the lower division of TLUD experts.
I consider him to be among the top three in the Premier League along with Tom Reed.

I have been wondering the same thing. It seems that because biochar involves technology and private entrepreneurial investment that is lumped in with all the other causes of FEAR Inc. Organic Consumers Association came out with an anti-char statement about COP-15. There are definitely things to be worked out on char systems (feedstocks, conditions, economics...) but it has considerable promise on many fronts. Just being against everything is not an ethically acceptable stance when the people who will suffer most from inaction are the world's poor, not the activists in wealthy nations

Hi Art. Hey, I am most interested in char and your test plots. I am a tree physiologist by training and have attended the ETHOS meetings. When does your group meet next??

Also, I have been contacting Eternagreen to see about getting some bags, and the shipping costs are pretty steep.........would there be others interested in going in on some to lower the costs?? See below.

Most interested in hearing back from you. Jim

10 bags of 50 lbs EternaGreen™ Biochar @ $17.50 each   =   $ 175.00
Shipping from Atlanta to Salt Lake City = $ 37.50
Shipping from Salt Lake City to St. George = $ 218.50
Total                                                                           =    $ 431.00

As I mentioned on the phone, the optimal volume to ship - as far as freight is the 5 ton to 10 ton (a 20 ft. container full) range.
My best guess is - from other freight rates that I have seen, that you'd have a Landed Cost Price of app. $25 per back, versus $43
per bag as per above.

Thank you for the details. There are so many variables. Lit my first TLUD this evening. It was a paint can 1/3 filled with twigs. Far too loose a fill. In spite of that it was good to get started. Next time the columns will definitely be a few inches taller. Biochar has so many possibilities.
